Greetings from Maria Regina School! Ah, a new School Year...a time for learning, and fun too! This year is an opportunity to build new relationships, assist your child to discover or re-discover the joys of learning and overcome the challenges that he or she may face. My name is Mr. Frank Gomez, and I am serving as your child’s 7th grade homeroom teacher.
This is my fifteenth year at Maria Regina School. I have been an educator in Catholic Schools for the last twenty-one years. As an educator, I have served in various capacities including as (1) a homeroom teacher for fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, (2) a junior high teacher for Religion, Social Studies, Science, Vocabulary Development, Study Skills, Literature, English, Writing, and Computer as well as (3) a Vice Principal for Academics.
In May of 2020, I completed a doctorate of educational technology from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. Four years earlier, I earned a technology integration specialist professional certificate program at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, California. Additionally, I hold a M.A. degree in Philosophy from LMU, and a M.A. degree in Education and a B.A. degree in Philosophy with a Politics minor from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. As my background indicates, I have many interests but the one most dear to me is that of teaching. As an educator, I am committed to working with students on a daily basis, and I enjoy helping others succeed.
I am looking forward to a successful and meaningful school year. I have planned an exciting, comprehensive, and challenging curriculum filled with life skills and academic development for all students. I strongly believe that every child can succeed in their learning process if (1) both teacher and parent collaborate, and (2) each child applies the strategies taught.
In closing, as the school year begins, note that our partnership will truly produce student success!
